Dog lover saves drowning pit bull with CPR in Prospect Park

Animal lovers always do their best to save any of them that is in need of help. Just like they do for us, risk their lives to save ours.
So, this woman did the same for a drowning pit bull.
It was drowning in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Lake but this brave woman did ‘mouth-to-snout’ to save her. According to the woman, the dog smelled like a wet, dirty dog.

She was walking by there, when she heard a lot of people screaming, some of them ‘call 911’, while others ‘she’s not breathing’.
DeRito, 46, ran quickly as she saw that a man pulled the poor drowning dog. Her owners were panicked and did not know what to do…
The dog was not responding at all, so DeRito started to breathe into her nose, while cupping the mouth shut and breathing into the nostrils.
The signs of the dog were not so hopeful. Her tongue was turning blue and DeRito though she could not make it.
On the other hand, after the response of 911, that was not the proper number, they should have called 311, DeRito knew that it was on their hands to save the poor dog.
After a while, the dog started coughing and breathing. After some minutes, her owners got her up and took her to a vet.

Even though DeRito gave her number to the couple, she did not hear about Bella yet!

She just hopes Bella could recover, and she is happy that she could at least help in rescuing a life.
