Rescuers Try To Free Nosy Puppy Whose Head Is Stuck In An Abandoned Car Tire

Dogs seem to find the strangest places to investigate, but sometimes their curiosity can wind a pup in a whole heap of trouble. That’s what happened to a cute pooch in Chile who managed to get her entire head and neck stuck inside a car’s tire. The ensuing rescue was a tense situation, as workers had to be delicate so as not to injure the pup.
The little one was first discovered at Chimba rubbish dump in the city of Antofagasta in Chile. Rescuers used petroleum jelly and some gentle prodding and pushing in attempts to free the sweet little girl.

At first, the dog was aggressive when workers tried to help, so they had to sedate her for the safety of everyone involved. One man used his hands to cover the dog’s snout and gently push her backward through the hubcap after a good dose of petroleum jelly was applied.
A local veterinarian examined the dog and said she was an eight-month-old female animal who lives on her own, or wild, in the area. She was not injured and plans are to sterilize and vaccinate the animal then return her to the area.
The vet stated, “As it is wild, it cannot be adopted. It is of no use to humans.”
The mountains in the region are home to many packs of wild dogs who survive on human rubbish and other smaller animals. Watch the heroic efforts to free the sweet pooch in the video below. Stay safe, little one!
