Man Duct Tapes Friendly Dog’s Legs Together & Violently Kicks Him Across Room

Roscoe is a beautiful 7-year-old Pit Bull who is friendly, loveable, and lives in Heuvelton, New York. Sadly, Roscoe is also the latest victim of animal abuse and his new owner wants to get the word out so it doesn’t happen to anyone else’s pets. It all started when a video was posted to social media of Roscoe being abused.
The video showed poor Roscoe standing in a room with his front legs duct-taped together. A man identified as Joshua R. Pike is seen jumping and kicking the dog across the room. The entire time this happens, Roscoe’s tail wagged. Mr. Pike’s sister-in-law, Jolen Pike, is not clear why he did this to the dog, but the moment she saw the video she raced to the scene.

“Have you ever met anybody who doesn’t have a lot of friends and needs to do stuff to try to make friends or make people laugh?” she told a reporter. “That’s Josh.”
When Ms. Pike arrived on the scene, she expected her brother-in-law to put up a fight when she tried to take Roscoe away from him. In the meantime, the Ogdensburg Police Department’s phone lines were flooded with reports of the video. When Ms. Pike went inside the home, she found poor Roscoe shoved in a crate made of pallets. She used a power drill to unscrew the side so the dog could be released. She took the dog and drove off.

Ten minutes later, police arrived and found a second dog, a one-year-old mixed breed named Lewis. As of this writing, he is in the custody of Ogdensburg Dog Control. Mr. Pike was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals under the state Agriculture and Markets Law. Another man who was allegedly in the room when the video was shot, 22-year-old Brandon M. Hooper, was also charged.
Ms. Pike said Roscoe remains a loving, kind dog despite the abuse he has suffered. “He’s a great dog and he deserves a great home, and he’s staying with me and my kids,” she shared.

The original video that started the quest to save Roscoe can be viewed here. Warning: Dog abuse is depicted in the video.
